Introducing one of the freshest faces to join the Chekoh Mama model family - Bekky!

A beauty and skincare content creator and gorgeous Mama of two, Bekky was kind enough to accompany us in our most recent shoot at Cuvr Studio.

So, tell us a little bit about you and your family?

My name is Bekky, I am a content creator and SAHM (stay at home mum) and I am married to my amazing husband James. Currently we live in Brisbane but we tend to move a lot due to James’s job (he’s a bombardier in the Army). We have two beautiful girls, Arli Rae who is three and Margot James who is five months old. You’ll often find us at the beach as it’s our happy place or any cafe where there is coffee and good food.

Was this your first time posing it up in front of the camera? Thank you again for being part of our shoot day!

Thank you for inviting me - I had so much fun! It wasn’t my first time, I have a bit of a background being both behind and in front of the camera. I have dabbled in a bit of modelling over the past 10 years, while more recently I work full time as a content creator. I also have a Bachelor’s in fine arts Drama, so I have done a lot of work in multiple different creative fields.

What has been the best thing about becoming a Mama?

I adore seeing the world again through my babies eyes - they view the world so creatively and innocently, its just beautiful. Their capacity for love and compassion is super inspiring, I honestly feel like I learn just as much from my babies as they learn from me.

And what was one thing you wish you knew earlier on?

It’s okay not to be ‘perfect’, sometimes you just need to change your perspective!

When dishes are in the sink it just means your family is being fed, if the house is messy it just means your family is having fun and if you’re tired / touched out that just means you’ve been giving your babies all the love. You’re doing great mama!!

3 items on your wishlist at the moment?

From Chekoh or in general? 😉

From Chekoh I have my eye on the Mocha and Denim Clip Carriers, the Cinta-Stripe Wrap looks so gorgeous and also the Mini Chekoh Wraps are so adorable! My three year old steals my Wrap Carrier for her baby dolls so I need to invest in one for her.
On my Mama Wishlist I currently have my eye on the YCL Petite Molten Bracelet, this gorgeous pj set from Studio Vsprco and the new Charlotte Tilbury matte blushes.

Your top 3 newborn must haves?

Chekoh Wrap Carrier - Literally the only way I could do anything, especially with a toddler running around as well.
Baby lounger - I didn’t have one of these with my first baby and I am so glad I invested in one for our second. I picked ours up from Linen Social!
A Nappy Caddy - carries everything you need and you can transfer it so easily between rooms or the car etc. I had a C section with Margot, so having the caddy meant I was able to have things easily accessible.

How did you come to find out about Chekoh?

I found out about Chekoh through instagram, I swear it's how I find everything these days - who even uses google anymore!

What do you like to do for 'you time'?

I am a skincare girlie so I love a bit of a pamper time! Also anything creative fills my cup, so having my own silent disco or creating fun collages. I don’t get a whole lot of 'me time' right now, so just sitting reading a book quietly with a coffee sounds like a dream!

How has baby wearing helped you and when/where is your favourite time to wear?

Babywearing changed my life with our second baby! I wish I had known about it with our first, as both my babies are big contact nappers during the day. It’s made my life so much easier, especially when James has long periods away for work. I babywear most of the day! Cooking, cleaning, shopping, shooting content - Margot is sleeping in the Carrier on me! If she’s fussy I can calm her down while still making myself a cup of coffee to calm me down too.

What's next for you and your family?

Currently we are planning on having no more babies, happy with our two little girls for now. We are moving interstate at the end of this year for my husband’s job (army wife life) so that will be a pretty exciting time. Long term goals are to buy a home beside the beach and do more travelling - I am pretty keen to live in Europe again, this time with our little family, so that’s also an option on our list!
